Family Background
E.I. Couse married Virginia Walker, September 5, 1889, in Paris, France.  They had one son, Kibbey Whitman Couse, born 1894 in Etaples, France.  Kibbey married Lucille Wrenn, 1921, in New York. They had three children, Elizabeth Ann, born 1925, Virginia, born 1932, and Irving Walker, born 1935.

Virginia Couse Leavitt is the only living grandchild.  For decades, she and her late husband, Ernie Leavitt, divided their time between Tucson, Arizona, and Taos. Now she lives full time in Taos, where she continues the stewardship of the Couse legacy as site historian.
